Homer campgrounds all seem to be parking lots. It's unfortunate that there isn't a true woodsy, private campground available here. But, this place does the job. You are very close to your neighbors in these tight camping spots. The tent spots on the beach have the best view. The bathrooms are nice (read: not outhouses) and the shower facilities are reasonable. There's even a spot to do your laundry if you are staying a while. It's at the end of the spit, so near all the shops and the statue of Homer is right next to this place. The staff is friendly and accommodating too. They have a military discount. If we ever come back with our camper, we will stay here again. If we tent camp again, we will stay on the beach in the FCFS city-run sites closer to the shops. Everything you need in a beautiful scenery. Friendly staff and good facility's. You will be close to your neighbors, but there isn't really much more space at Homer's Spit. Last campgrounds on the spit. Staff friendly and helpful. Facilities are adequate. Walking distance to many of the tourist shops, Salty Dawg, restaurants, and the beach down by the ferry terminal. Can fish from the beach by ferry terminal. This is one of those glorified parking lots, but in a great location for convenience. You will have a parking spot and a pic of table that is it. We had some unpleasant neighbors, but this was an excellent beach camp regardless. Keep in mind, it's first come first serve!
