I have lived in Homer my whole life, and have seen most dentists in our area, many of whom I had less than ideal experiences with. I have extreme dental anxiety, no insurance, and a tight budget. I spoke with Eagle Dental a few times over the course of a week about payment plans, Care Credit, and the like. Before I was able to secure payment I found myself in immense pain at 7pm on a Thursday night, the same night Eagle Dental was having their office holiday party. Within HALF AN HOUR of my call, (his cell number is even on the answering machine for emergencies!) Dr. Bourne and his wonderful assistant were unlocking the door for me, and proceeded with an emergency appointment to help relieve my pain and fix my tooth. NO extra charge for coming in after hours, and they worked with me on payments. I can't say enough good things about this office or this dentist, and they accept Medicaid to boot! I would give more stars if I could, they absolutely earned it! I went in for just a routine cleaning and I was really happy with all of the information the hygienist gave me about how to take care of my teeth and gums! She did a great job explaining what I need to do to keep my teeth happy for years to come. No big procedure so I didn't spend much time with the dentist himself but he was friendly and took the time to look over my teeth before I left. Great staff and a wonderful experience all around. Really liked the atmosphere at first, but that's where it stopped!!! I told them my tooth was hurting and they just told me that it's just a side effect of being pregnant! I insisted they check again which they did but said everything was fine. Went to a different dentist out of town to get a second opinion a few months later and they said I chipped my tooth and it would've become a cavity if they didn't fill it. Just so upset because I've told them time and time again to please check my took because it was hurting badly and food was getting stuck in there (something I've never had)! Dr. Bourne extracted all my wisdom teeth really quick, in the office and extacted then out in 46 minutes. And it didn't hurt. I will be going back for regular check ups. Great experience! Chrissy talked me through everything she made me feel relaxed and confident that my teeth were in good hands. I went and bought the oral b floss picks just as she suggested. Her passion for teeth made me care more about my own teeth. I never used to floss, but now I think I will.
