Food was absolutely excellent. I had the rockfish. It was a nice, sensible portion with a side of Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus. The entertainment was perfect, not too loud, folksy and genuine. Great views from our table. Glad we stopped here instead of a touristy place on the spit. As a former French restaurant worker, I tend to be critical. I was pleasantly surprised by impeccable service ( thank you Aaron) who immediately got us a beverage although very busy. Then asked if we wanted bread while food was being prepared in case we were starving. Calamari was perfect, Philly steak sandwich with prime rib was tasty. The bread very fresh. Dinner salad was perfect! Earned 5 stars from a man who worked in the NW's number one restaurant and who has cooked for famous chef Paul Bocuse. Not an easy task. Well done AJ's! We will be back for your famed prime rib! PS the draft beer was fresh, good carbonation and perfect temp. The place was clean and busboy knew his job well! I took my parents to AJ's for a 40th anniversary celebration on the glowing recommendation of a friend. They did not remotely disappoint. Without a doubt one of the best meals I've eaten in 25 years of restaurant dining in Alaska. The beef was superb, The seafood was outstanding and the service was stellar. From the delicious truffle fries appetizer to the frankly amazing mushroom soup, to the scrumptious cheese cake, there wasn't a single note out of place. We'll absolutely be returning, and soon. Amazing food! Don't let the outside fool you. This is a nice restaurant with amazing chefs. I had the salmon fettuccine special and it was a culinary explosion of flavor. Super clean and the wait staff were all dressed nice and very friendly. Wait people friendly. Food nicely prepared. Good place
