We had an amazing day with Smokey bay seeing brown bears (grizzlies) large and small, up close. From large males running through the water trying to catch salmon to female with cub (50 tmetres away) all very safe. We spent about 3 hours. Saw at least 35 bears. Dean the pilot/guide was very good, attentive to our needs and kept us safe. On return flight we viewed the mountains, glaciers, volcanic activity etc. a great day and definitely value for money. A good safe company that has flown me out to the villages around homer for the past couple years. No complaints. My husband and I went on a flight with Smokey Bay Air Aug 30th 2017. It was as advertised and much more. Dino, our pilot, and also our guide was knowledgeable and made sure we had the best views of all the bears while making sure of our safety. He knew what the bears would be doing and made sure we were in the best possible locations to view and photograph. While I am aware there are several businesses that provide this service, I felt the location we were able to view the bears from provided me the opportunity to photograph in a more unique environment. We had an amazing experience, even better than anticipated, with a great flight tour before landing on the beach where we had an expertly guided bear adventure by our pilot, who took good care of us. We saw many bears even a few in close (enough!) range. Highly recommended! One of the best times of our lives. Andrew was an amazing pilot and guide. This is a must See!
