Not the most realistic reality show, but it does do a good job showing us how they would be if they actually weren't wealthy prominent folks liking in Alaska... If I forget the facts of their true family history etc.., it is a good show on face value... Learned some things and reminds me of my childhood a little bit... It's tough to enjoy the show as much after I learned they're a bunch of millionaires (Kilcher family is worth $16 million) who own a huge tourism business, living only 12 miles from the shopping and art galleries in Homer, in a place where the winters are much milder than many places in the lower 48 states (in winter, Homer averages about 2" snow/month and rarely comes anywhere close to getting below 0 Fahrenehit), who make thousands of dollars more a month by acting like they're trying to survive in freezing wilderness on TV. It's an enjoyable show, but it's a work of fiction, not reality. There are a lot of Christian's who watch shows like this to avoid the other filth on TV. BUT they've decided that they need to curse in just about every other sentence. They didn't curse in the first season that I can recall so why now? will u adopt me haha I would do anything to have a family like that How lucky! We got Otto Kiltcher for our tour. So worth the 10 dollar donation
