God's country. Park Rangers could do nothing and I would still give it 5 stars. As it is, the amenities are great. Awesome place to recreate! Amazing views, great camping. Caught a delicious dinner then a stiff drink with a walk on the beach. Tenting was excellent K-Bay Bear Tours is the Best! If visiting the area, visit Katmai National Park too! They have some very skilled pilots who can fly in the most challenging condition to get you and your family back home safe and sound. Remember, bears are wild animals and their behavior cant always be trusted, how ever this outfit has an excellent safety record and the tour through volcanic mountains is unforgetable! The scenery is second to none! This is a once in a life time trip! You will be very glad you did it! Photographers, prepare to be blown away as you take pictures of adult bears with playfull cubs, and all types of wolf species, all eagles like the bald eagle are "every where"! The streams are packed with salmon and you will watch as the bears eat their share. Words that describes this trip, Fantastic unbelievable, unforgettable, something the whole family can do Together! A family that does K-Bay Air trips together, stays together! We hiked to Grewingk Glacier and it was amazing. You have to arrive by boat. The hike is pretty steep at first, but then it levels out. The lake and the Glacier are beautiful. Well worth the hike. One of my favorite parks in Alaska. You'll need to take an $80 water taxi to get here, but the hikes are just amazing. Glaciers, lakes, mountains, and bears everywhere.
