It has a parking, gazebo, a few picnic tables, regular and wheelchair accessible porta-potty, on the bike path, on the beach, on the Homer spit- surrounded by waters and mountains, city of Homer managed tent and RV camp sites at a reasonable price (in a gravel parking lot right along the beach with no RV hook-ups.) Downside is the wind, there is always a breeze or wind in that area. Great place to go with friends and have a bonfire or do activities. Once in a while during the summer there's a man who will give horseback rides, sometimes for free! Awesome location. Often see sea otters and other wildlife. The only bad thing is the wind can sometimes be bad. But it's fun to watch the kite boarders. An affordable tent & RV campground right on the beach! Imagine a $10/day campsite (as of June 2017) and setting up a campfire right on the beach, roasting your hotdogs or smoores on an open firepit as you see and hear the waves crashing a few feet from your feet. When the low tide comes, you and your kids can venture out 500 feet or more and collect shells that were just recently under 10 feet of water a few hours earlier. When you want, you can then hit the board walk on Homers' Spit. Great area on pier. Day use is free. Only has porta potty unlike the rest of the area.
