We've been on the road in Alaska, taking in the sites and hiking the trails as we visit the cities along the coast. Our last stop was Homer. We decided to go out for lunch and found Fat Olives. The wood-fire pizza was delectable - the crust was airy, the toppings were fresh (try the Hitman. So good!). My husband got the salmon chowder and it was to die for. Anna, our waitress, is amazing at her job. Homer has been the most welcoming place we have been. What a wonderful way to end our trip. I've always given Fat Olives a 5 Star review. Food is outstanding, service is good, atmosphere is extremely welcoming. But due to one particular item having been removed from the menu, I've got to give it a 4 Star rating. Their champagne, cheese and mushroom fondue was THE reason we would come to Homer. It had been a family tradition for our son since he was 2. Now at 10 we can't get it anymore. Great brick oven pizza. Sandwiches are some of the best I've had. Nice beer and wine selection. One of my favorite places in Homer, heck, Alaska. Menu hasn't really changed in a decade though...... Let's call it "gosh dang! Crispy pizza and a Cold brew!" I love taking my kids here after baseball practice, great service and great food. When you're here you feel like family, not just a number. Wait staff was quick to acknowledge and seat us. We enjoyed a pizza and all agreed it was very tasty. A few of the locally brews were available on tap.
